TOP FASHION TIPS -by Define Clothing
1) LEAVE THE BAGGY LOOK AT HOME
The number one Fashion Tip we would like to start with is- Drop the baggy look! Well trimmed and tailored clothing looks much neater and more presentable which encourages others to take you more seriously. Show off those legs and glutes in some well fitted jeans! -Take a look at our new Hathern Jeans as an example: www.defineclothing.co.uk/product-category/fashion/bottoms-men/
Try not to overdo it though, you don’t want to look or feel uncomfortable. Make sure you can breath!
2) STOCK UP ON YOUR ‘WOW’ BUYS
If your like most people with good style and taste you’ll tend to be very particular with the clothing and accessories you purchase. If you’ve finally found the perfect T-shirt or Jaw dropping Jeans that you can’t seem to find anywhere else make sure to stock up on a few of the same product instead of just the one. Go for a couple of colours to add more variety to your wardrobe.
Besides the above, isn’t it the worst feeling ‘in the world’ when your best top is in the wash when you need it the most! Like a spontaneous night out with the lads.
3) SHOW SOME SKIN
Feel a bit of manliness by undoing a few top buttons and rolling up the sleeves on your shirt or long sleeve T-shirt/ Jumper.
4) DRESS LIKE A GENT
At some point in our lives we decide to start maturing and dressing like a man! Why not start now by getting rid of the graphic image T-shirts and the bright popping glammy colours.
5) CLEAN AND FRESH
Wear clean, fresh clothing every day.
If it’s been worn, throw it in the wash. There’s nothing better than looking and smelling fresh and although we might get used to the smell of our own brand (BO) it tends to be an unsatisfying treat for everyone else around you.
Mix up the accessories and make sure they match your look. Most importantly, always make sure your belt and shoes match!
7) THE STYLE, THE IMAGE, THE WELL-GROOMED LOOK
Looking stylish, keeping up with the smart image and keeping it well groomed are all very important factors of making a great first impression. Sure, character is everything! But it massively helps to have a well presented fashionable gentleman style to match your charm!
8) LOOK AFTER YOUR CLOTHES
Not every man is fortunate enough to have their parents or partner do all of their washing and ironing and sometimes even the ladies get it wrong! 😉 Make sure to follow the care label on all of your clothes to save ruining you best! Treat your clothes to some nice wooden hangers. Make sure your hangers fit as having a hanger too large for your jumpers and jackets for example can ruin the shape and look unusual when your wearing them.
Get a reliable, easy to use iron that doesn’t leak or stain your clothing and never iron directly onto the print on your fabrics!
It’s very important to remove any spills from your clothing straight away. It’s best to attend to this right away to save it potentially being completely ruined!
9) FITTED CLOTHING
Why do you think it costs so much to get clothes tailored. Because to look at your best and to stand out from the rest it’s always better to get that trimmed, clean and well-fitted look. That’s why here at Define Clothing we like to tailor all circumference measurements to make sure your looking sharp and on point from head to toe.
10) PURCHASE WISELY
Only buy your best and everything you no longer wear pop it in a bag and take it to your nearest charity shop. You want to love every item of clothing in your wardrobe or it’s just cluttered space. Look at what clothes you have in your wardrobe and ask yourself what your missing. Next time you do an online shop look out for what your needing to complete or add to your outfits. But take note: You don’t want to buy anything that doesn’t match anything in your wardrobe, unless your buying a whole new matching outfit.
11) PLAY IT SAFE
Black and white are your safest options as they tend to go with most things. Try not to get too creative or to go with too much colour. Tans and creams go nicely together but if your going for a brighter colour just stick to that one colour and just stay plain with everything else.
12) GET THE FABRICS RIGHT
Always make sure your fabrics go together. At the extreme level you wouldn’t want to wear a shirt with a pair of jogging bottoms. You see it out there so it’s definitely worth adding to the top fashion tips to make sure you don’t make the same mistake.
13) THROW OUT THE OLD, MAKE ROOM FOR THE NEW
Your image is everything and wearing old worn out clothing just gives people the impression you don’t care about your appearance. As much as you might get used to wearing the old, tired clothing and think other people won’t notice- they will. One thing you can tend to get away with is Jeans. The distressed, ripped, torn and faded look goes down pretty well. So no worries with aging and wearing in those Jeans!
14) HOWS IT HANGING?
Choosing the right hanger for your clothes is more important than you think. If your hanger is too large or too small for your jacket/ jumper for example it will change the original shape of the clothing item and will make them look odd when wearing them.
Another important factor when it comes to using hangers is the material your using. It’s best to avoid plastics as the petroleum gasses in the plastic can actually discolor your fabrics through time. It’s always best to opt for wood. It’s also worth getting some decent wooden hangers with a smooth, polished finish to prevent the wood from cutting and splinting into your clothes.
Finally, remove any keys, watches, wallets or anything else you may have in the pockets to prevent any unnecessary weight on the clothing as this could also misshape the garment.
